About

logo_CFMIn pursuit of its mission to deliver our Nation’s Veterans access to state-of-the-art care and facilities, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides space for Veterans and their families, as well as VA employees, for medical and medically-related services, interment and memorial services, and research, warehouse, and administrative office functions.  VA also acquires, disposes of, and manages land for construction of necessary facilities.

VA’s Office of Construction & Facilities Management (CFM) is the implementation arm of VA’s leased and owned property portfolio, with three subagencies as its clients (Veterans Health Administration, National Cemetery Administration, and Veterans Benefits Administration). CFM satisfies client space requirements through competitive lease procurements and through land management actions. VA leases space and acquires land in both rural and urban areas through the United States, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Territories.

Within CFM, the Office of Real Property supports VA’s mission by acquiring land and leasing space for the construction of medical and medically related facilities that service our nation’s Veterans. In addition to procurement, the Office of Real Property is involved with intergovernmental transfers, and the granting of easements, licenses, and permits. It also provides guidance to regional and local VA offices regarding real property.
